What’s checked
The Short-Term Rental Inspection checklist asks for photos at each step:
- On arrival: a photo showing the unit or house number, a quick check for damage or missing items, and before photos of every room.
- Walk-through: lights, windows, thermostat, doors and locks, and any odors.
- Kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas: clean surfaces, appliances, fixtures, floors, made beds and set-out towels.
- Windows and details: interior windows, glass doors, baseboards, door handles, vents and ceiling fans.
- Final details: supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and soap are stocked; lights, switches and appliances work; any damage, missing items or maintenance issues are noted.
- Trash and laundry: trash removed, liners replaced, and used linens and towels gathered.
- Inventory: a check of the linens and towels left in the unit.
- Before leaving: keys left where they belong (with a photo), lights off and doors locked.
